Bathroom air freshener prompts evacuation at Yenni building in Elmwood

A janitor spraying air freshener in a restroom unwittingly sparked the evacuation of three floors at the Joseph S. Yenni building in Elmwood Thursday afternoon (June 8).

At least 11 people were transported to local hospitals to be checked out after at least one employee reported the chemical smell made them feel nauseated, Jefferson Parish Spokesman Antwan Harris said.
